Le Louvre

Not going to lie we were a little afraid of the election happening while we were here. Thousands of people gathered at the Bastille which is less than a mile from where we are staying. Hollande was elected as the new president and thankfully most everyone was happy about this decision. We were really worried about the riots. Hollande is a socialist and is proposing to lower the national debt by imposing a tax of 75% on anyone who makes more than 1 million euros a year. Pretty steep tax. Also that no one is allowed to make 20 times more than the lowest wage.  The country is mostly happy.  I couldn't imagine something like that passing in the U.S.

Everything is so gorgeous here. It's like being transported to another time. While walking around the Louvre my mom remarked that this was like the "original disneyworld" definitely true.
