Modge Podged

I managed to absolutely massacre my desk with crafts, glue, nail polish, oh scratches who knows it looked terrible ! Something had to be done! One giant jar of modge podge later we have this.

I went to local thrift stores and picked up every vintage children's book I could find. In addition I also found a coffee table book that highlighted beautiful women from the 50's-70's. I picked all my favorite pictures and armed with a pair of scissors went to town.

Once you have all your pictures modge podge a gigantic collage over the surface of your choosing. I finished with a coat of gloss.
My only complaint is that modge podge dries sort of sticky. Not really sticky ... but ehhhh I am super anti anything sticky, scratchy, gooey, dusty etc. I am probably a little more critical than most when it comes to this. Any of you have this problem with modge podge or am I nuts?

I am happy all is sealed, but I will probably buy a cut piece of glass in the future. Hope you are inspired and vow to only ruin books for art.

Day painting; the anorexic Dalmatian

Get it the spots are close together ? harhar.
As soon as I find some nails and a level this will be behind my bed. I have never signed one of my paintings. I think it's because I am left handed and everything smears unless it's painted from right to left. Any lefties have any tips ?

Parisian Street Art

Has anyone else heard of Konny?  Really loving the art.  I did a bit of research and not much is out there.  Any knowledge would be appreciated.  In a city with so much history street art takes center stage and adds to the ambiance.

I haven't lost my touch for collecting random things.  So far I have a button, a rock and a broken piece of glass.  These are my most treasured finds from Paris ha!  I use to rummage through the garbage when I was little ... at least now I have graduated to trash on the street.

My first painting

This is actually the first painting I ever did. Picked up a couple of dollar store paintbrushes mixed up some acrylic paint on a paper plate and voila! This painting is inspired by the Blood Brothers, and appropriately named Xylophone Tree !!!! (exclamation points necessary). Circa 2005 I found love on the edge of a jagged stage and by getting my face smashed in by a microphone.

Picture day

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. This is in front of my condo. The 6 year old neighbor informed me that the tree is named Blossom.

Even Birds Sacrafice for Love

 "something tasty"
 "you cannibal !"
 "Please wait..."

Admittedly this is a little morbid, but the scene played out so perfectly.  A bird so perfectly content to scavenge only to feel the harsh judgement of cannibalism by a potential mate.  The snack was no longer worth it.  The Oregon Coast is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.  It pulls my heart back every chance I can go.  My dad was raised in Oregon and as a result I have had the delight of experiencing the untouched beaches and beautiful mists.  I hope that you have the chance to visit.
