Popovers

Look at that cute recipe paper!! I would definitely take that. This is my Grandma's recipe for popovers (I wish that recipe card had a date on it!) . Ridiculously easy little treats you can bake up in a snap.

Recipe:
1 cup all purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp salt
butter

Mix salt, milk, eggs and flour in a blender.  Whiz together for 3 seconds. Supposedly letting batter sit while the oven warms up gives the popovers a better texture.

Heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Melt butter in muffin tins.  We used about 1/2 a tablespoon per popover.  Which seems like a lot.... and well it is ha.  Pour batter into muffin tins about half full.  Bake for 15 minutes at 450 degrees, then decrease temperature to 350 degrees for another 5 minutes of baking.

The HUGE key to success here is to not open the oven door, the steam is what makes the popovers pop.

This is an eggy delicious thing to pop in your mouth.  Any schmear or filling would be perfect as the taste is very mild and could be paired with almost anything.

I think they are adorable!  What an easy thing to create and you get to say "I made popovers!" That is worth it right there.  Do you think you will try?
